The Requirement of p53 in Oral MSC differentiation Which Leads to Kaposi’s Sarcoma
نویسنده
چکیده
P53 is considered one of the most important defense proteins against cancer.Although the p53 mutation is associated with many cancers, its mutation is never found in Kaposi’s sarcoma (KS), raising a possibility that functional p53 may play a role in KS development. To assess the role of p53 in Kaposi’s sarcoma tumor, shRNA-mediated gene silencing was used to knockdown p53 expression. We examined Kaposi’s sarcomaassociated herpesvirus (KSHV)-infected periodontal ligaments stem cells (PDLSC) for osteogenic differentiation and endothelial angiogenesis, and we observed noticeable decreases in osteogenic differentiation and angiogenesis when p53 expression was knocked down in KSHV-infected PDLSCs by p53 specific shRNA. The results suggest that p53 plays an essential role in sarcoma development of KSHV infected mesenchymal stem cells.

Immunosuppression is known to be associated with increased rate of malignancies and widespread dermatophytosis in the patients with sezary syndrome and this may account for the occurrence of Kaposi’s sarcoma and generalized dermatophytosis in patients in this report. Herein, we report a 58-year-old farmer man, who admitted with two months history of severely pruritic skin lesions, which p...

Kaposi’s sarcoma is a malignant neoplasm of lymphatic and blood vessels endothelial cells. The disease is classified into four clinical subtypes, all of which are associated with human herpes virus 8(HHV-8). We report a 71-year-old man who was treated for six months with prednisolone and azathioprine for bullous pemphigoid and presented with multiple purple papules and plaques on ea...

Background: Although evidence indicates that tobacco use is one of the risk factors for oral cancer, the relationship between opium addiction and oral cancer has not yet been evaluated. The present study was performed aiming to evaluate P53 and epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) expression in the gingival tissue of opium-dependent patients. Methods: 102 individuals (70 men and 32 women) wer...

Human herpes virus-8 (HHV-8), now called Kaposi’s sarcoma-associated herpes virus (KSHV), as a probable causative agent of Kaposi’s sarcoma (KS) was putforth when it was first detected in KS specimens in 1994. Since then, many investigators have confirmed the association of HHV-8 and human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS) associated KS. This study was done ...
